ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION

Robotics is a field of engineering that deal with design and application of robots and the use of computer for their manipulation and processing. Robots are used in industries for speeding up the manufacturing process. They are also used in the field of nuclear science, sea-exploration, servicing of transmission electric signals, designing of bio-medical equipments etc.

Automation Engineering is the use of control systems and information technologies to reduce the need for human work in the production of goods and services. In the scope of industrialization, automation is a step beyond mechanization.

CARRER PROSPECTS

  • There are ample opportunities in this field for robotics engineers both in India as well as in abroad countries.
  • From manufacturing line robots to experimental robotics for the military, medical and automotive industries, the future of robotics engineering certainly offers a variety of opportunities for professionals entering the field.
  • A candidate having an M.E. degree in robotics can find employment opportunities in space research organizations such as ISRO and also in industries which manufacture microchips.

Welcome to the department of Robotics and Automation engineering, Bhagwan Arihant Institute of Technology, Surat.

Founded in 2016, Our department is one of the newest department in South Gujarat among all GTU Colleges.

Robotics is a new area of knowledge that involves various tools like designing and development of robots and also manipulation of computer with machines to make as an Automatic Robot. Our branch is a combination of different streams like Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer science and Artificial intelligence. Our staff members of this department comes from distinct backgrounds, but are united by our common passion for Robotics as well as Automation that we distribute with young minds that join us and we work together to achieve their dreams.

Principles of Robotics Lab

The laboratory is equipped with high speed computer with internet connectivity and latest robotic simulation software.

The objective of  Principles of  Robotics lab is to model the different types of  robots  and calculate work volume for different robots

Automation System Design Lab

The Automation system design laboratory provides the hardware and software resources useful for the laboratory experiments and project activities.

The laboratory is equipped with Basic Pneumatic Trainer Kit with manual and electrical controls , 8051 – Microcontroller kit , stepper motors and servo motors with PC interface cards , ultrasonic, touch and non contact sensors and various software like LabView and PNEUMOSIM software / Automation studio.

Computer Numerical Control Lab

The main purpose of CNC Laboratory is to provide computer facilities for the students to study about CNC coding  and then later, develop G-code for the CNC machines. There are two engraving machines

  1. CNC LATHE
  2. CNC MILLING

Basic of Electrical Engineering Lab

The Basic Electrical Engineering is utilized for performing experiments related to the basic knowledge of fundamentals in Electrical Engineering and its applications in other branches.The lab is equipped with Ammeters, Voltmeters, Wattmeters, Resistors, Capacitors and Inductors of appropriate rating, Multimeters, Digital storage oscilloscope etc.
